Helping Our Neighbors Thrive
There were a record-breaking 7.5 million food shelf visits in Minnesota in 2023 — sometimes, numbers like that make hunger feel too big to take on.
But that doesn’t stop Second Harvest Heartland from tirelessly pursuing their goal to cut hunger in half for all Minnesotans by 2030. From free meals for kids in the summer to rallying voters in the fall, a new campaign is often beginning as another one launches to reach a variety of audiences and help everyone live hunger-free.
Everyone At The Table
This campaign uses the dinner table to represent Minnesota’s pride in showing up for our neighbors, no matter what their favorite dinners look like (spoiler: they all look delish).
Hunger is a Policy Choice
Voting has more power to end the root causes of hunger than charity alone. Our goal was to show changemakers that they can make an unmatched difference for their neighbors with a powerfully direct, community-centered campaign.

Your vote has more power to end the hunger crisis than charity alone. Research the candidates, make a plan to vote, and do your part to bring everyone to the table this election season.
Free Meals for Kids
When school is out, hunger is in. Second Harvest Heartland fills the nutritional gap during the summer so kids and their families can focus on doing awesome summer stuff, not worrying about where their next meal is coming from.

Groceries for Seniors
With grocery prices and inflation on the rise, it can be hard for some seniors to get the nutrition they need and even harder to ask for help. We used a first-person voice to normalize experiencing hard times and to highlight how grocery assistance can help our audience live their fullest lives.
